Central Europe, Italy, Spain & Morocco: Our Six Week Itinerary

It’s official: after 18 months in Asia, we are planning to return to Europe next year for a monster trip across the Eastern part of the continent. As I start making lists and researching possible destinations, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the Euro trip we took in late 2014 for inspiration.

This trip marked a very different style of travel for us – we moved around almost every day, and spent a lot of money on hotels and eating out. Next time, we’ll pick a few cities that we are particularly interested in and spend a week or so at an Airbnb rental, with travel in between.

If you want to read more about our three-week road trip through Spain – a definite highlight of this itinerary – read this feature post which goes into more detail. To see more photos of the trip, check out Venice & Burano in Pictures.

<style=”text-align: justify;”>Our 2014 Eurotrip was one of my favourite holidays yet. Personal highlights included revisiting Venice, falling in love with Prague, and having the freedom to cover a lot of ground in Spain with our rental car. Arriving on the African continent for the first time by boat was something I’ll never forget! But there were also some lowlights, particularly our first day in Tangier and being so sick in Geneva that I couldn’t get out and see the city. On our next trip to Europe, we are planning to travel overland through the Balkan states, the Caucuses and Poland, plus revisit Czech Republic and Germany. Have you been to that part of the world recently? If you have any tips for us, please share them below!

Hi Emily, found you searching for things on Chiang Mai and I’m still reading what you have to say. Thank you.
We are heading over there in January, looking for yarn and paper.
